Frequently Asked Questions

Quarantine Bubble - FAQ

What does the registration and supply fee cover?

As with the majority of childcare programs and extracurricular activities, registration fees are standard. The registration and supply fee covers the cost of administrative processes and the supplies for all general academic enrichment material and general extracurricular activities. Please note this does not include any specialty extracurricular activities requested by the Quarantine Bubble. Note: The registration and supply fee is non-refundable.

Can students from multiple grade levels be in the same Quarantine Bubble? If so, how will you manage students from different grade levels?

Yes, students from multiple grade levels can be in the same Quarantine Bubble. Our focus is always quality over quantity, which is why our Quarantine Bubbles are limited to 10 students. However, if each student in the bubble is from a different grade level, we recommend a limit of 6-8 students. Our highly-skilled academic partners, along with Dr. Walton, our CEO, will develop a personalized, differentiated support schedule based on the virtual schedule of each student's home school. We will fill in any gaps in virtual instruction with academic enrichments (typically project-based) and extracurricular activities. Our ultimate goal is to provide a personalized, structured, nurturing, yet relaxing environment for children. We strive to create an environment conducive for children to excel academically and participate in engaging extracurricular activities daily.

What level of daily communication should I expect from Think, Speak & Grow Academy?

The Academic Parnter will communicate with parents daily.

Can a Quarantine Bubble operate part-time instead of from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm?

The primary focus of the Quarantine Bubble is to provide families support from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, which includes the academic day and after school. Our goal is to give working parents complete peace of mind to work and know their child's academic and social needs are being addressed at the highest level of excellence. Because our focus is quality of service versus quantity, we will only work with 5 full-time Quarantine Bubbles throughout metro Atlanta, serving a maximum of 50 students (10 students per bubble). Additionally, we will serve 2 part-time Quarantine Bubbles for 4.5 hours daily. The hours for the part-time bubble are 7:30 am -12:00 pm or 1:00 pm - 5:30 pm.

Will you assist with placing a student in a Quarantine Bubble?

We firmly believe that a Quarantine Bubble should emerge from a group of families or friends who know each other, are like-minded and have a high level of trust among their group. Since Quarantine Bubbles are home-based, we believe this bubble works at its highest level of fidelity when families/friends come together to form the bubble. Every family’s home is a sacred place of refuge, security, and peace; therefore, inviting in a stranger may not be ideal. However, we can match students to one of our VIRTUAL Bubble groups.

Do you offer aftercare? If so, what extracurricular activities will you provide during that time?

We offer aftercare ONLY as part of our Quarantine Bubble.

It appears that the typical virtual school day ends between 2:30 - 3:00 pm. So, our aftercare runs from the end of each respective student's school day until 5:00 pm.

Our aftercare offerings include:

  • STEAM projects
  • Crafts
  • Painting
  • Interactive Social Emotional Learning projects

We can also work with Quarantine Bubbles to offer customized extracurricular activities during the aftercare time.

*Please note we do not offer stand-alone aftercare programming outside of the Quarantine Bubble.*

Yes, we work special needs and gifted students. We will review Individual Education Plans and work closely with the student's teachers and other service providers. During the registration process, there are extensive questions about student exceptionalities, both cognitive and physical.

What COVID-19 safety precautions will you implement in the Quarantine Bubble?

  • Students will be required to wear face shields or face shields w/cloth drape.

Yes, the Quarantine Bubble will operate based on the school year calendar of the respective students served. Additionally, the Academic Partner will be available during breaks and holidays with a one-month advance notice.

Is there an enrollment commitment for Quarantine Bubbles?

NOTE: Given the nature of how viruses operate, the uncertainty and lack of consensus regarding how to stem the spread of COVID-19, as well as the current trajectory of COVID-19's pervasiveness in Georgia, we highly anticipate that most school districts in metro Atlanta will remain virtual for the majority, if not the entire, 2020-2021 academic year. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Due to the limited number of Quarantine Bubbles we will offer in metro Atlanta, a 3-month enrollment commitment is required, with a one-month advanced notice to terminate service. Our ultimate goal is to partner with a Quarantine Bubble for the entire academic year, which will create a sense of normalcy, peace, and stability for students. Additionally, we do not permit intermittent enrollment. For example, if a Quarantine Bubble is registered for September through November and decides to terminate their services at the end of November, that Bubble will not be permitted to skip December and re-enroll in January. Our Academic Partners are full-time employees, and our goal is to provide them financial stability and peace of mind.
